Matt LaPointe

Growing up in Stratham, New Hampshire, I graduated from Exeter High School in 2003. My early years were filled with travel and competition as I competed in tournament paintball, traveling across the country in the National Professional Paintball League (NPPL). In college, I shifted my focus to cycling, participating in events throughout the Northeast. Nowadays, I cherish spending quality time with my family, going on new adventures with them, and racing my bicycle. I began playing later than most, starting at the age of 30 with Freedom Rugby, where I played for three seasons. Although my playing career was brief, it ignited a passion for the sport that led me to coaching.
With two years of coaching experience under my belt, my greatest satisfaction comes from witnessing the development of young players throughout the season. I believe in teaching the fundamentals of rugby, knowing that a solid foundation is essential for a player’s advancement in the sport.
My coaching philosophy emphasizes trusting the process. I encourage players to grow their experience and skills, all while emphasizing the importance of having fun. I am also actively involved in our community as the PTO president, working to foster a supportive environment for our youth.
I look forward to helping our young athletes thrive in rugby, both on and off the field.
