FAQ

Season Start and Practice Information?

The season will begin in the first week of April. Practice times will be announced at a later date. Team coaches will provide more information regarding game and practice schedules.

What Does Registration Include?

Your registration helps us cover costs for hosting our tournaments, funding practice space, affording uniforms and providing materials for better coaching among other operational costs. We thank you for helping us provide all these things for our players.

Flag: Registration includes a practice shirt and a team-branded ball.

Middle School and High School: Registration includes a practice shirt, team-branded ball, uniform shorts, and socks.

Game Shirts: Will be provided at all levels.

Optional Purchase: Participants have the option to purchase a custom team-branded jersey with a selected number (first come, first serve) and their last name.

Will I need to purchase additional equipment?

Besides a mouth guard, not really. Basic rugby equipment for practices includes a mouthguard, cleats, and comfortable athletic wear. All of which are not sport specific. So, you can use the equipment (e.g., soccer cleats) from other sports seasons. With the addition of the rugby shorts that come with your registration and us providing the jersey you are good to go! The only additional equipment you may want is a scrum cap, but this is optional. When you fall in love with the sport you may also want a ball for the house!

What are the benefits of my child playing rugby?

At the fundamental level rugby promotes physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and respect for opponents. Beyond that, rugby offers legitimate college recruiting opportunities and a uniquely welcoming international community. However, one of our players favorite benefits is that rugby presents the opportunity for all players to unlock their “total athlete” potential. No player is prevented from doing anything by a position. Everyone passes, tackles, jukes, kicks, and scores!
